Lester enjoys the sound of belt sanders

But not the sound of:

coughing
sneezing
crinkling plastic bags
tin foil
tape
boxes and packages being opened
thumps
the electronic toothbrush (unless he is in the same room as it, and then he likes it)

The riddle of Lester... a cat? a ferret? a baby?

But a belt sander?

@Rodney-He seems to enjoy any kind of white noise. Still, I didn't think the belt sander sounded all that soothing...

@Angela-I love cats, ferrets, and babies, but Lester is a very small parrot--a parrotlet. I swear it's a real breed, not made up : ) His bretheren hail from Equador and Peru.

Morphy (my Border Collie) takes exception at vacuum cleaners and blenders.

arnold doesn't like the vacuum cleaner, but what he likes least of all is the sound of coats, b/c that means I'm leaving.
he loves an acoustic guitar but it must be live. he responds very differently to live music vs. recorded.

Lester enjoys the sound of blenders, food processors, and vacuum cleaners--he sings to the vacuum cleaner, and has a special whistle for the blender and food processor.

Lester doesn't react to the sound of coats, but whenever we take our shoes on and off he complains--I suppose for the same reason that Arnold doesn't like the sound of coats.

I'll have to do a whole post about Lester's musical likes and dislikes. I don't think he's ever heard an acoustic guitar in person.
